Our MoM/MES team was involved in renewing and modernizing the control of the global energy network at a major player in the natural mineral water production sector.
Project challenge
Our customer’s mission is to offer consumers natural solutions to their hydration and refreshment needs throughout their lives.
Sustainable development represents a harmonious and respectful balance between man and nature. In particular, it means reducing their carbon footprint.
The mission entrusted to Technord consisted in renewing and modernizing the control of the energy network, which includes :
- Water production network (primary, secondary and distribution networks)
- The electrical network (Medium Voltage substation, consumption points, production points such as photovoltaic panels, etc.).
- Compressed air network
- Energy network (Fuel, Natural Gas)
- Technical gas network (Nitrogen, Argon, etc.)
- Heating and steam network
The challenge faced by the teams in our MoM/MES department was as follows:
- Set up a single control and historical system for all energy networks and production sites worldwide
- Set up a signal collection system compatible with all current site sensors and expandable for the future
- Implementation of a single centralized database with physical and virtual redundancy
- Automatic reporting by equipment and by site, with comparison of consumption between equipment.
- The ability to predict consumption
- Transfer of data from the current EIS system (obsolete) and migration of functionalities to the new system
- A real-time and historical display system customized to the user’s needs and profile
Solutions developed and implemented
On the one hand, Technord teams have set up a Wonderware Aveva platform with more than twenty web visualization and energy network supervision clients.
This platform enables the creation of reports, graphs, triggers, repository storage, alerts, measurement scaling and sensor parameterization.
On the other hand, the teams took charge of deploying a Siemens PLC architecture, as well as the electrical work required to set up the remote acquisition points in the locations identified close to the energy meters and sensors. All connected to the company’s Ethernet network.
Finally, we transferred data from the current EIS system and migrated functionalities to the new historization platform.
Customer results
It now has a better view of its various energy networks, both consumption and production.
Any anomalies in consumption trigger alerts, and consumption peaks can be better managed.
Better control of costs and precise decision-making and action help to reduce the impact of CO2 emissions and thus improve the company’s carbon footprint.
For all of us, today, and for future generations!
